Having a laptop is more as a necessity than a luxury in today’s world. Along with buying a laptop you get other issues which needs to e tackled properly to avoid damage to the laptop. One such issue is laptop overheating which is seen commonly with everyone using a laptop. So what are the ways to either stop or tackle with laptop overheating that are effective in a long run and are not difficult to do.
Below are the ways which you should try to avoid laptop overheating:
- Elevate the Laptop- Many laptops overheat because the fan is blocked. So the solution to this problem is elevation. Elevate your laptop by keeping a book or any other small item under the laptop while working. This slight elevation will allow more air flow and will cool the temperature relatively.
- Buy a laptop cooling mat- There are many brands that manufacture cooling mats and you can choose one from there. You can also buy computer stands to give your laptop some ventilation and in case you can’t afford one then you can always look for some hard substance under the laptop instead of keeping something soft.
- Don’t use your laptop over some soft surface such as bed or sofa as they can block the vents and will absorb the hot air and will heat the laptop and may sometime heat it enough to catch fire.
- Maintaining a cool temperature around the area may help you keep your laptop cool and avoid overheating. Use air conditioner to cool the temperature.
- Try using a heat sink. It works only if your laptop has a metal base.
- Get a program or an app to keep a track of the temperature of your laptop.
- Stop overclocking. Using it for prolonged time also causes overheating.
- For windows users, lower the maximum processor states by doing some changes in the battery option.
The above steps are quite easy to do and won’t cost you money or time and need no professional help. You can try them yourself at home and can do your bit to avoid laptop overheating. This will not only help you keep your laptop safe but will also prevent certain major damages that are caused due to laptop overheating such as causing fire. Also sudden accidents will lead to data loss that may not be recovered further. So before any such thing happens, take precautions.
